9th May 2022 | York
Welcome to your May member’s Newsletter!
I hope you all had a great Easter break, and you are now looking forward to the summer months ahead!
I would like to start the newsletter by welcoming some familiar faces to the team. Tony & Justine have made the transition from Roko members to Roko staff! Tony has been a member of the club since 2018. He loves attending classes such as Yoga & Body Balance and has recently completed his level 2 gym instructor qualification. You can now book in with Tony on the gym floor for RokoFit sessions on a Saturday morning for support and advice! Justine has been a member since 2019, and you can usually find her attending CIRC-X classes on the gym floor and more recently… boxing with Personal Trainer, Marius! Look out for Justine around the club as our new reception supervisor!
Once again, your feedback is incredibly important to us and shapes the work we do in order to improve your overall experience of being a club member. We have received a lot of feedback on the background music on the gym floor, and as a result during May 2022 we will be launching a brand-new playlist! Listen out for this next time you are working out in the club!
And remember, the whole team are here to help – so please don’t hesitate to speak to us if there’s any assistance, support or advice that you require.
All the best for the month ahead & I will look forward to seeing you in your club very soon.

Over the past several months there has been an increased amount of bike thefts in the Clifton Moor area whereby the perpetrator will use a tool to cut the chain or spiral lock and ride off on the stolen bike. Targeted bikes are normally those above £300 and previously Carrera’s, Giant’s and Specialised bikes.
We advise you to use a strong ‘D lock’ to secure your bike to the bike rack and a further lock to secure your wheels to the bike rack. We would also like to ask you to be extra vigilant whilst using the bike shed area and to ensure you have noted the frame number of your bike.
If you have any information this can be reported via Crime Stoppers or by ringing 101.
Throughout May we are teaming up with York food bank to help them collect emergency food for local people in crisis. We will be leaving a donation station in the club’s foyer for member donations. Thank you in advance for your help & support!
Remember to book in with one of our fitness coaches to review your training plan. The team can upload your training plan to the Roko app for you to follow in each of your gym workouts. Purchase a Roko Wristband from Reception today for automatic programme loading on the kit! Speak to the reception team for more information.
Everyone can dream but for 2022 we want to take you inside one, inside "One Clown’s Dream." Rocket, Isabelle & Teddy's journey have all been seen. This conceptualization comes from my mind in a world only a circus boy could imagine, vision & dream. Ticket sales are open now & we cannot wait to see you all inside the big top in our microcosm truly beyond visualisation. We welcome you to #OneClownsDream. See you all very soon.

Watch out for our June half term junior activity programme which will be available from reception very soon!
As the half term falls on the Jubilee bank holiday weekend, we have decided not to run the 5-day intensive courses but instead, offer more 1-1 lessons at times and days that suit you and the swim team. If you would like to book 1-1 lessons for your child, please email jarcher@york.roko.co.uk for options and more information. The price of 1-1 lessons is £20 per child, per half an hour lesson.
Choose from Ham, Tuna Mayonnaise or Coronation chicken! Each salad is served with spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, peppers, red cabbage and our popular home-made coleslaw.
We have moved the Lucozade vending machine from the male changing area to the gym floor and from this machine will be offering the famous Lucozade Sport range. Watch out for some new additions to the vending machine in the club lounge, including various flavours of Ribena!
