This experience is a journey into rest, moving from the gross to the subtle, so that layer by layer we can begin to settle ourselves, shifting from the busy rush of life into something softer. The perfect chance to top up your cup with all the feels!
This will be a warm/ambient practise (not hot yoga). We will address tension in the body with Yin Yoga. Then a guided relaxation to continue the process of releasing; and with crystal sound bowls we will explore sound as a way to absorb the mind and facilitate a natural withdrawal where we can start to acknowledge that becoming still isn’t so much a thing you do, as it is a feeling that you settle into.

Welcome to your January newsletter!
Happy New Year to you all and we hope that you had a wonderful Christmas break too.
We are up and running into 2023! We expect that the gym will be super busy and classes overbooked so do make sure that you use the app to book your classes. We have added some extra classes to take us through our busy period and will monitor attendance over the next few months.
It may be that time that you are in need of a gym programme update. This can really motivate you into the coming months. Make an appointment with one of our gym team who can match your workouts to your current goals. Keep updating every 4-6 weeks either by adding more weight, reps or changing up exercises. This way your body will keep challenged and keep progressing with its goals! Let’s do this 2023!

Swimming
The Roko swim programme continues to provide a good service to all. Classes are healthily subscribed, and we provide an inclusive programme for all, including groups, individuals and families. We are pleased to share with you that our offer to adult members is also growing, please contact Jennie via email: jennie.keast@nottingham.roko.co.uk for more information.
The main block of swim teaching takes place between 4pm - 6:30pm on weekdays and 9am - 12.30 pm at weekends.
Any variation to the above times will be one to one sessions which are mainly in the splash pool and, on occasions, in the main pool depending on the stage of the swimmer. We continue to endeavour to work with adult members who are swimming thus guaranteeing at least one swim lane plus recreational space in the main pool. We also constantly create splash spool space whenever possible to accommodate families and their children within the main class time especially during busy periods.

Bistro
We have made lots of improvements to our cafe, creating a more ambient experience for members. We have engaged with local providers and have invested heavily in new management and staffing as well as a new coffee machine, signage and exciting menu.
We are grateful to members for their positive feedback so far and have been very pleased to see members relaxing and socialising over a well-earned quality coffee after a class or session in the gym and pool.

Currently, we are posting a ski workout every week for the next 4 weeks, don’t be put off by the name this is totally relevant for everyone looking to increase core strength and leg endurance!

We are looking to implement myzone onto our gym floor – this will include a few circuit based classes taught by a Myzone trained instructor. Keep an eye out in the club for more information in the coming weeks…What is myzone you ask?
Myzone is a wearable heart rate tracking device. This innovative fitness wearable uses wireless and cloud technology to accurately track and monitor physical activity and quantifies it. Not only that it encourages users to move more by applying a social competitive element.

We now have over 70+ classes on our group exercise timetable available to all levels of fitness. Holistic classes ranging to hard core Hiit! Something for everyone.
