Manager’s Welcome

Welcome back  

So after what felt like a year of lockdown we are back and what a relief it is to be back. We have planned and prepped the club to ensure that you can train safely and improve your health and also increase your immune system along the way.

I am so pleased to see you all back in the club. The swimming lane bookings have gone very well and as such we have now increased the lane capacities to allow more people to use them but rest assured we are still under on our new COVID safe capacities. The gym has been laid out to be safe but functional and as such the feedback has been very good.

Classes have been going well and are very popular and we are pleased to announce that we have increased the number of classes to ensure that as many members as possible can enjoy being back in front of your instructors. 

The club has many safety measures in place but not so much that it would negatively affect the member experience. The changing rooms can now be used for swimmers to get changed and in case of emergency or need and this can be accessed by request at reception. There are many hygiene stations around the club including hand sanitiser so if you have not done so already then please come and take a look at your club - it misses you.

Swimming lessons are returning and we are reviewing things all of the time with the aim of bringing as much of the club back online as possible whilst maintaining member safety.

We hope to see you in the club again in September.

Steptember – Run, walk or jog 150km in September
Hit your daily 10,000 steps and complete an average of 5km a day to beat this challenge.

Elite Challenge


Sweatember – burn 5000 calories in workouts this month!
Government guidelines are to workout 5 times a week! If you burn 250 kcals 5 times a week in Sweatember you will be well on your way to smashing this goal!

Club News

Since the government announced a relaxation of lockdown to allow business to re-open under guidance; we at the club, before opening and during our first month of operation, have been working extremely hard to ensure we are doing everything we can to ensure that our members and staff are comfortable returning to the club.

We appreciate that we are all adapting to the new normal.

We ask all our members to follow the simple messages we have outlined in the club and through our media channels to ensure we are keeping everyone safe. We appreciate everyone supporting the club and following the COVID-19 secure guidance. If anyone has any questions on these processes please do not hesitate to ask within in club.

5 simple key in-club Covid guidance messages to remember are:
• Don't come to the club if you are feeling unwell or showing any symptoms
• Wash your hands and use hand sanitiser as often as you can
• Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the spray and paper towel provided
• Maintain social distancing in club at all times
• Wear a face covering when moving around the club (not while exercising)

Roko App
If you are not already aware we have launched our new app (with the white background) and we have now turned off the old app (burgundy background) 

In the changing environments we strongly encourage everyone to download the app – we are utilising it for all group exercise class bookings, swim lane bookings, gym class inductions and most importantly, push notifications to communicate any changes or news with immediate notice.

Swimming News

Swimming Lessons Are Back!!!
Swimming lessons will resume week commencing 7th September 2020.
If your child was booked onto the March 2020 Course please email cmuller@gillingham.roko.co.uk to confirm your child’s place on the course.
Full information on all new procedures will be provided.
New bookings will be taken once all existing bookings have been accommodated.

Lane Swimming
Our lane swimming through the app has been a real success since launch, and we would like to thank all the respective members and guests who have followed the guidance and made this a positive safe and well run experience.

Please book swimming lanes via your on-line account on the app.

Family Swim Times Are Back
BOTH POOLS:
Monday - Sunday: 2.30pm - 4pm

BOOK in-club or over the phone up to 7 days in advance
* 1 hours slots available (45 min swim time, 15 min change over gap)
* Social distancing must be abided by between family ‘bubbles’
* Children must be supervised at all times by an adult in the pool
* Please follow the direction of signage and staff at all times
* Please arrive for your swim on time and ‘swim ready’
* Allocated changing cubicles and lockers within the family changing room will be available - but please shower at home

Studio Classes

Due to the popularity of our classes we would like to reiterate that if you are unable to attend for any reason please cancel your booking through the app.  (Due to limited class capacity for social distancing purposes we are going to be reviewing our NO SHOWS for class bookings daily so please if you are unsure you can attend please cancel through the app)

As we have more members returning we will be adding to the timetable as we move through the rest of the year.

We are also working hard to improve and implement live streaming of our classes to increase the number of people who can access them. You can currently book to livestream some of our Mind and Body classes, and we will soon be announcing dates of when livestreaming of our High Energy classes will be available. Sound quality has been impeding the implementation but we have found a solution are currently testing and rolling out the improved livestreaming product. Our High Energy class livestream will not include Les Mills classes at this time due to licensing restrictions.

Café / Bar

We envisage our Café Bar will open in due course – we will be informing everybody when this is likely to come back to operation.
